Off to the Doctor
The past few days have very interesting indeed! Friends stopping by, stories of others injuries and lots of sage advise to make sure I heal quickly :) I am taking extra calcium/magesium, and definately remembering to take my 3sixty5 nutritionals...I want to have a speedy recovery! Today I found our what my doctors planned to do about my broken ankle. They took more X-rays and determined I was not going to need surgery...Yea!!! I was offered many colors to pick from for my cast. They had red, blue, purple, yellow, hot pink, camo, soccer ball printed, etc. I picked basic black although Tom wanted to get a custom wrap, LOL. I will be getting better acquainted with Dr.Richey.

Snowing and Sledding and breaks Oh My!
What a glorious day it was. It snowed solidly for nearly 24 hours and when I awoke this morning the sun was out and it was a beautiful winter wonderland...12 plus inches were on the ground and it was spectacular!
My sweetheart was already outside running the snowblower. He hates it when the snow becomes packed and turns to ice so he was busy clearing a safe path to our driveway and sidewalks. I couldn't resist grabbing my camera to capture this lovely white scene.
My friend Sarah & I had the grand idea to go sledding after lunch so my sweetheart Tom grabbed the sleds and went looking for a nice spot in the yard to sled down. We have a hilly yard that leads down to a tennis court so we selected the path that leads down toward the tennis court...a pretty good slope. We have two sleds: a saucer style sled and a long flexible cushion style with side handles...The latter was my choice.
Tom took a test run down our slope.....whoooo-hooooo!!! It looked fun so Sarah grabbed the saucer and away she went! I followed next screaming all the way down, what crazy fun in the middle of a workday. We love being able to rearrange our day to include impromptu events, network marketing is an amazing business to work in :)
Oh yeah, my story.... So we have now each had several crazy, screaming, fun runs down the slope. Toms saucer spun in circles and spit him off to the side once and on his second turn he went face down on the long sled....eeeek! Next Sarah took the saucer and on her turn made it all the way to the tennis court before the saucer bumped on the tennis court pole and she careened around it and off to the right into an open flat area. I grabbed the long sled feet first and headed down the hill again screaming with delight until I realize I'm headed straight for the fence. I stuck out my foot trying to push away from the fence...if I could just manuver around it as Sarah had done on her saucer but not realizing I was going much too fast. My foot slammed in to the fence, pushed the chain link and a foot of snow forward about 8 inches and all of the sudden excruciating pain!! Ohhhhhhhh owwwwwww I... I... I'm going to black out, uuuh., uuummmm uuuhhh....owwwww!
They tried to help me walk up the hill but the pain was so intense I opted to crawl up the hill. Later at the hospital we found out I had managed to break three bones in my foot so I'm pretty sure I avoided a more serious injury. I'm in a splint for a few days and then back in to the orthpedist. I'm hoping to avoid surgery...I'll find out Tuesday.

Things I Learned From Playing Bejewelled Blitz
- One night while I was up late playing my favorite game on Facebook Bejeweled Blitz, I had an ah-ha moment. Really it applys to so many things in life that I just thought I'd share these thoughts with you.I hope you have an ah-ha moment of your own...
- It makes a difference how soon you get started
- You've got to keep moving
- Low scores come from slow or not enough movement
- Don't look back at the play you missed or you'll miss the move you should be making now.
- Distractions will affect your game
- Don't panic as your time runs out...you'll freeze up and won't get those last few points.
- It helps to be looking for the next bright gem.
- It's never too late to score big!
- Use the hints.

Report on Scraproom Progress
For those who are curious if I am making any headway in my scraproom I thought I'd give an update on my progress. I hope to share some pictures in the near future as well. I was able to get quite a bit done and finally had a small clear table space which allowed me to create Valentines for my ArtXchange friends, my grandchildren and a few close friends as well. It feels wonderful to have some room to work finally! Here's my list of accomplished tasks so far...
- Reduced the paper clutter substancially
- Contained all the loose clear stamp sets
- Moved Cricut back to is proper location
- Put away a big stack of card components
- categorized & hung embellies on Clip It Up
- Created a list of all flat Stampin Up stamps
- Cleaned up around Purple Cow cutter
- Filed recently created cards by type

Just about over...
The end of the month is nearing...1/12th of 2010 has nearly passed. How is the year going so far? For me January has simply whizzed by.
Our friends the Halls are now all settled in at home with their darling newborn Emerald. It was a tense Thursday last week as we all prayed for the final papers for the adoption and that they would get to the places they needed to be and that Alisa would get permissons to leave for home. In faith we all left for the airport with a backup plan in place. We boarded our plane for California and Alisa patiently waited in the airport awaiting news. The good news for Alisa finally came at the last moment, but it came :) We were so relieved for her.
The pilot of our Delta flight greeted us with those words all travelers dread I'm sorry to inform you that due to extreme weather your luggage has not been loaded... WHAT???? I need my baggage...We have our semi-formal event TONIGHT!
At least we are not alone in our predicament, our Xango founder Gordon Morton and his wife Rachel were in the same boat but still, I'm thinking green tennis shoes and blue jeans at a semi-formal event...waaaah!

In spite of the lack of luggage our first day, we enjoyed ourselves. Our few days at the fabulous Montage Resort with our Xango business partner leaders and corporate hosts was delightful. We heard the latest updates, reviewed our successes and shared ideas while being treated to sumptuous breakfasts, lunches and dinners.

We love to mix business and pleasure and this time on Saturday we met up with long time friends the Jonovich's. Lunch overlooking the pool at the Montage was such a treat. The Halibut Tacos are delicious! The next day we all went bike riding in Huntington Beach, enjoyed breakfast, the beach and walking the pier before heading back to the condo for a rest. We finished off the afternoon eating outdoors at the Shake Shack in Crystal Cove while enjoying the breathtaking overlook to the ocean...as our friend John would quip..."life by design...truely."

Babies...I love them babies!!
We have friends who are staying with us this week. The family is adopting and last night they were able to bring home thier newborn daughter, she is soooo-ooo beautiful!. Don't we forget just how tiny newborns are?
Another friend is waiting on her adoption...please join us in praying for her...there is a holdup in the process and she could really use all the prayers you'd lift for her and her son.
Here's a sweet quote I read..."A baby is a great way to start a person!"...I so agree!
I'd like to offer up a prayer for her..."Dear Lord Jesus we thank you so much for the blessed gift of new life...Thank you for this beautiful little one. We ask that you would wrap your arms of protection around this family, help them to direct your precious child toward you and let them embrace her as if you personally were holding her in your arms. Thank you for picking the Halls as this new little one's mommy and daddy. May they each find great joy in one another. In appreciation for all that you have done and will do for this family.
In your precious name we pray Jesus,
Amen
